Specto and Association of Arab Universities Sign a Memorandum of Understanding
After several meetings and discussions about the importance of the ICDL program and the
benefits to the higher education institutes, students, staff, and employers, Specto
Chairman Prof. Ahmad Abu-El-Haija and the Association of Arab Universities (AArU)
Secretary General Prof. Sultan Abu-Orabi signed a Memorandum of Understanding in
Amman in June 2017. According to the MOU, AArU will promote the ICDL program to its
member universities and encourage them to adopt ICDL syllabus as a mean to enhance
ICT skills of graduates and staff. Specto will also participate in meetings organized by AArU
across the Arab region to further disseminate the ICDL.
The Association of Arab Universities is an organization working within the framework of
the Arab League. The objective of the organization is to support and connect universities
in the Arab world, and to enhance cooperation among them. Members in AArU exceed
200 universities in the 22 Arab countries.
