Specto announced its participation in the “Building Resilient SMEs in the Tourism Industry (ReTour)” project, funded by the Interreg NEXT MED program. This project aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the tourism sector and enhance their ability to cope with the challenges and changes facing the tourism industry in the Mediterranean region.

The project responds to the growing challenges facing the tourism sector, including global crises, climate change, geopolitical instability, and the need to develop more sustainable and resilient business models.

The ReTour project focuses on enabling tourism companies to leverage modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain, contributing to the development of a smarter, more sustainable, and future-proof tourism ecosystem.

The 30-month project involves partners from six Mediterranean countries: Greece, Cyprus, Jordan, Italy, Turkey, and Lebanon, and is 89% funded by the European Union. The project comprises a group of institutions, academic bodies, and experts specializing in technology, innovation, and tourism, led by the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), as well as several regional and international partners, including Specto.

The project was officially launched during the Kick-off Meeting held in Athens, Greece, on January 7, 2026, where the project's objectives, future work plans, and mechanisms for cooperation among the participating partners were reviewed.

Specto's participation in the project reflects its ongoing efforts to support innovation and digital transformation, and to contribute to the development of sustainable technological solutions that serve various vital sectors, including the tourism sector.
