Specto’s engagement with the Knowledge Stations initiative in Jordan reflects a strong commitment to digital inclusion, community empowerment, and nationwide impact. Originally launched to expand access to information technology in remote areas and support the transition toward e-government, the initiative was implemented by the National Information Technology Center (NITC) following a comprehensive site-selection study across governorates and local communities.
Nearly 200 Knowledge Stations operate across Jordan under the management of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MODEE). Since 2008, Specto has played a key role in supporting this initiative by building the capacity of local trainers and strengthening ICDL program delivery.
Through targeted training programs, Specto has equipped trainers from approximately 50 Knowledge Stations to deliver ICDL modules effectively to youth across the country. As a result, more than 12,000 individuals have been trained and certified, with around 70% of beneficiaries being women and housewives—highlighting the program’s strong social impact.
A key strength of this collaboration lies in its contribution to bridging the digital divide in underserved communities. Through its long-standing partnership with NITC and later MODEE, Specto has significantly enhanced digital literacy levels in remote areas, creating sustainable opportunities for learning and participation in the digital economy.
In addition to these initiatives, Specto continues to oversee ICDL operations across a wide network of leading institutions in Jordan, ensuring consistent quality and performance. These include major universities and public sector entities, reflecting Specto’s strong reputation and trusted partnerships nationwide.
