We are proud to announce the successful completion of the Digital Empowerment and Entrepreneurship for Refugees (DEER) project, implemented by Specto under the EDU-SYRIA programme and funded by the European Union. Over the course of the project, 225 Syrian refugees and underprivileged Jordanians were trained in essential digital skills, surpassing the original target of 180 participants. Of these, 203 candidates earned internationally recognized ICDL certificates, equipping them with practical competencies in document processing, digital marketing, and image editing. Beyond training, the project fostered entrepreneurship and employment opportunities—several graduates launched online businesses, created professional websites, or secured jobs using their new skills. The initiative also strengthened partner centers, enabling them to expand facilities and continue supporting their communities. The DEER project stands as a testament to the transformative power of digital education in opening doors to the labour market and empowering vulnerable populations.
